Multi-Level Marketing is Leading the Pack in Healthcare Reform

What if health care put money INTO your piggy bank?
As consumers struggle with rising healthcare costs, healthcare workers manage unstable working conditions, and all of us worry about the safety of medications, a quiet alternative health movement is gaining momentum.  Like the racehorse with 50-1 odds of winning, multi-level marketing, recognized by many through products like "Amway" has a new face in the 21st century.   High quality lines of nutriceuticals backed by peer reviewed research studies and by MD's are offering products that address fundamental, rather than symptomatic needs.

I'm not talking about diet shakes!  The heavy hitters moving up the backstretch are companies boasting products that address chronic issues like pain, and oxidative stress.  Companies that rapidly address minor daily health symptoms with the rapid results only small molecules, like essential oils can provide are also in the race.

This growth in MLM and natural health products offers multiple benefits for consumers.   Unlike products purchased from health food stores and pharmacies, MLM customers may receive in depth, one on one consultations with distributors who actually use the product.  This experiential knowledge of the products provided offers a kind of service traditional healthcare providers simply cannot offer. Now, these products cannot take the place of a doctor.  They are not intended to.  But they can play an important role in empowering the consumer to engage in his or her own health and nutrition.

More importantly, the products are widely accessible to the masses.   Yes, they do often cost more than the products on the shelf at Wal-Mart.   But since the consumer can earn commissions by sharing the product with friends and family, those who choose to do so can actually make their alternative health care routine pay for itself.   This is significant!

In a nation of aging baby boomers, insufficient retirements, and a health care crisis that stems in no small part part from nutritional deficiencies, the unassuming and overlooked MLM industry offers some powerful innovations for helping to heal our health and our pocketbooks.
