Engineered Genes Cannot be Contained. Highlights from the Scientifically Speaking Series of GMO Free News.

Microbiomes, the microbial communities that associated with all living systems, are crucial components of health and wellness.  You might think of them as the interface between matter and energy that supports all other life forms.  In the Google Hangout video below, shared from GMO Free News, End-O-Fite Enterprise LLC director, Dr. Mary Lucero, describes microbial interactions that complicate containment of engineered genes.  Discussion include input from food system safety experts Dr. Stephanie Sennef,  of MIT, independent researcher, Dr. Anthony Samsel, and Dr Don Huber, Professor Emeritis with the Department of Botany and Plant Pathology at Purdue.  GMO Free News is an independent media group organized by a consumer group concerned about the prevalence of synthetic genes in food systems.
